Which major countries (if any) have substantial scope to increase their hydro share in generation?
China is building a hefty amount of new hydro,

Three gorges started running at full power just recently. Otherwise I have no clue, may be India has untapped potential?
The largest unused hydro capacity is unsurprisingly found in the developing countries, but there is still unused hydro capacity in most developed countries. On average developed countries use something like half of their possible hydro capacity.
Interesant bilde. Du har ikke tilsvarende tall for Danmark og? Ville være svært nyttig Å samenligne Danmark med sin høye andel vindkraft mot f.eks sverige med sin 50/50 miks vann/atomkraft.

År 2009 var siffran 567 g CO2 per kWh elektricitet, se http://www.ens.dk/en-us/info/factsandfigures/keyfigures/sider/danishkeyfigures.aspx
Här är en liknande lista där Danmark ingår, värdena är dock något högre (840 g) så jag vet inte vilket år som avses:

Från International Energy Agency's databas kan man för år 2009 hitta värdet 1350 g CO2 / kWh om man delar "Electricity consumption per Population" med "CO2 per Population", men då har man med alla CO2-utsläpp per capita, inte bara de från elproduktion:
