How to make a lecture thread

Postby Michael » 06 Dec 2008, 00:32

A lecture thread is a thread where you post information about a certain topic relating to nuclear power, power generation or any topic related to this. The purpose of this thread shall be for someone that does not know much, or indeed anything at all about this subject, to gain basic understanding of the subject.

In order for this to work, you must identify your target audience. Think to yourself: who am I writing this for? Assume that the general target audience is people in or having gone though senior high school. If your article is aimed for someone other than that, tag it as such.

Quite possibly you must link to other articles that are prerequisites to this one. For instance, if you wish to write a thread on the importance of control rods, you should link to an article describing nuclear fission first.

Keep it short and succinct. You will lose your target audience if you get long winded.

For an example of a lecture thead, see the thread on nuclear fission.
