Halveringstiden f\u00f6r Jod-131 \u00e4r 8 dagar, \u00a0f\u00f6r cesium-137 30 \u00e5r och f\u00f6r cesium-134 2 \u00e5r. Cesium \u00e4r v\u00e4rre, det stannar kvar l\u00e4nge, men hittills \u00e4r niv\u00e5erna totalt f\u00f6rsumbara, en tusendel till en hundradel av gr\u00e4nsv\u00e4rdet.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r att j\u00e4mf\u00f6ra vattenniv\u00e5erna med n\u00e5tt s\u00e5 kan vi omvandla det till str\u00e5ldoser och j\u00e4mf\u00f6ra med bananer. En siffra i Bq ger p\u00e5 egen hand ingen information om hur farligt n\u00e5got \u00e4r, olika radioisotoper s\u00f6nderfaller med olika energier och ger ifr\u00e5n sig olika typer av str\u00e5lning(alfa, gamma, beta). Vet man aktiviteten, s\u00f6nderfallsenergin och typen av s\u00f6nderfall s\u00e5 kan man r\u00e4kna om Bq till str\u00e5ldosenheten Sievert. Som tur \u00e4r finns det listor p\u00e5 faktorer f\u00f6r att konvertera en aktivitet till Sievert. Gr\u00e4nsen f\u00f6r arbetare under de h\u00e4r omst\u00e4ndigheterna har h\u00f6jts till 250 mSv. Current Situation<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants is similar to that which I described yesterday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Efforts to restore electrical power to the site continue. It is hoped that power will be restored to\u00a0Unit 2\u00a0today, which will then act as a hub for restoring power to\u00a0Unit 1. However, we do not know if the water pumps have been damaged and if they will work when power is restored.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Seawater is still being injected into the reactor pressure vessels of\u00a0Units 1 and 2\u00a0and additional fire trucks have arrived, reinforcing the operation to spray water into the Unit 3 reactor building.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We still lack reliable validated data on water levels and temperatures at the spent fuel pools at\u00a0Units 3 and 4.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Temperatures at the spent fuel pools in\u00a0Units 5 and 6\u00a0have risen in the past few days but this does not give rise to immediate concern. Water continues to be circulated within the reactor pressure vessels and the spent fuel ponds at both units.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A second diesel generator is providing power for cooling at\u00a0Units 5 and 6. Aktiviteten i bananer \u00e4r 120 Bq\/kg, eller 15-20 Bq f\u00f6r en banan beroende p\u00e5 hur stor den \u00e4r.<\/p>\n<p>En aktivitet p\u00e5 2.5 Bq per liter betyder allts\u00e5 att du m\u00e5ste dricka 6 liter vatten f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 i dig samma m\u00e4ngd radioaktivitet som i en banan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uppdatering 15:30<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jaif.or.jp\/english\/news_images\/pdf\/ENGNEWS01_1300544332P.pdf\">Ny JAIF uppdatering<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Man har sprayat vatten \u00f6ver bass\u00e4ngen i 3an kontinuerligt under 7 timmar. Snart ska man b\u00f6rja med bass\u00e4ngen i 4an. F\u00f6r n\u00e5gra dagar sen lyckades de spruta 30 000 liter vatten p\u00e5 runt 25 minuter. Om den takten har h\u00e5llits nu s\u00e5 borde man is\u00e5fall sprutat runt en halv miljon liter vatten till 3an. Det borde vara runt en tredjedel av bass\u00e4ngens totala volym. Det l\u00e5ter lovande! Elkabel \u00e4r inkopplad till b\u00e5de reaktor 1 och 2 men man har \u00e4nnu inte dragit ig\u00e5ng elen. Det \u00e4r nog inte bara flippa \u00f6ver en kontakt med tanken p\u00e5 de skador som skett, speciellt i 1an, efter explosionerna. Men snart l\u00e4r vi veta ifall pumparna fungerar eller ej. 2ans byggnad har inte skadats signifikant vilket ger hopp om att pumpar och annan utrustning ska fungera. Det \u00e4r viktigast att f\u00e5 ordentlig kylning till h\u00e4rden i 2an eftersom inneslutningen \u00e4r trasig p\u00e5 den reaktorn. Tryck, vattenniv\u00e5er etc i reaktorerna verkar of\u00f6r\u00e4ndrat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uppdatering 15:06<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/english.kyodonews.jp\/news\/2011\/03\/79661.html\">Kyodo rapporterar<\/a> om att det handlar om 2.5 Bq jod och 0.38 Bq cesium per liter kranvatten. Gr\u00e4nsv\u00e4rdena \u00e4r 300 Bq Jod och 200 Bq cesium. SvD tror nog inte att man f\u00e5r plats med fler Bq per liter kranvatten, om man f\u00e5r tro deras rubrik att &#8220;kranvattnet i Tokyo \u00e4r fullt av radioaktivitet&#8221;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uppdatering 13:45<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Det st\u00e5r i tidningarna idag att man uppm\u00e4tt str\u00e5lning fr\u00e5n vatten, mj\u00f6lk och spenat i Tokyo och Fukushima omr\u00e5det. Dom \u00f6verskrider de gr\u00e4nsv\u00e4rden som str\u00e5lskyddsmyndigheten har satt upp. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jaif.or.jp\/english\/news_images\/pdf\/ENGNEWS01_1300530956P.pdf\">JAIF har en bra <\/a>kort rapport om det. Gr\u00e4nsv\u00e4rdena \u00e4r definerade p\u00e5 ett s\u00e5dant s\u00e4tt att om man hade spenderat hela sitt liv p\u00e5 att \u00e4ta produkter med de niv\u00e5erna s\u00e5 kan de vara skadliga.
